Brand Identity
The goal of this project was to create a logo for a museum and build a branding system for said museum.
PROCESS & OUTCOME
This project revitalizes the visual identity of the Martinez Museum of California to better reflect its mission and connect with the local community. I began with a review of similar institutions, and visited the museum to collect visual references.
Starting with the logo, I sketched over 50 concepts, refined them through feedback, and finalized a clean, modern design built for adaptability and clarity. I then developed a full visual system—typography, color palette, and layout—that speaks to the museum’s values and audience.
The final deliverables consist of a unified brand package, including a bold adaptable logo, updated website mockups, promotional materials, and merchandise—establishing MMCA as a welcoming, forward-thinking cultural hub.

LOGOS
The thought process behind the monogram logo was to simplify the Martinez Museum name while also creating brand longevity through simplicity and elegant design. The typographic monogram also works to emphasize recognition while embracing scalability across applications, from websites to stationary.
COLOR PALETTE
The museum's color palette features blues and cool tones that foster harmony, trust, and continuity. These calming hues promote reflection and align with the museum’s educational and cultural mission. Blues convey stability and credibility, essential for institutions that preserve history. Their associations with tradition and timelessness anchor the palette, connecting the past and present in a grounded, forward-looking manner.
TYPOGRAPHY
STATIONARY
Designing MMCA's stationery collateral was a chance to integrate the museum’s identity into everyday interactions. I treated letterheads, business cards, and envelopes as extensions of MMCA’s visual language. The stationery serves as tactile pieces, enhancing meaningful exchanges with artists, donors, and institutions. By aligning the design with MMCA’s tone and values, I aimed to create polished, professional pieces that reinforce the museum’s credibility.
MMCA WEBSITE LANDING PAGE
I created a dedicated landing page for the museum that reflects MMCA’s visual identity and serves as a clear and engaging entry point for visitors. By incorporating consistent branding, exhibit imagery, and a strong call to action for tickets, the page guides users seamlessly from curiosity to commitment. It’s a way to bring the museum’s personality into the digital space while making it easy for people to connect with the exhibit and plan their visit.
CALL OF THE WILD EXHIBIT
For MMCA’s exhibit John Muir’s Conservation Journey: Call of the Wild, I designed a three-poster campaign and matching ticket stubs to create a cohesive and immersive visitor experience. Featuring journal entries and sketches by Muir, the exhibit offers a personal look at his conservation work. One of Muir’s tree sketches appears in both a poster and the tickets, using an overlay effect to tie the visuals together. These design choices help unify the exhibit’s materials and reflect the thoughtful, nature-inspired spirit of Muir’s journey.

FRONT DESK
Expanding the exhibit campaign into imagery at the museum front desk helps extend the visual narrative of John Muir’s Conservation Journey from the moment visitors arrive. It reinforces the exhibit’s tone and themes, creating a seamless transition from promotional materials to the physical museum space. This continuity strengthens brand recognition while enhancing the visitor experience by immersing them in the world of the exhibit right from the start.
